The West Herr Automotive Group has acquired Doan Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat on West Ridge Road in Greece, the Erie County-based company announced via a news release on Friday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The location, at 4477 W. Ridge Road, just east of Manitou Road, reopened Monday as West Herr Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of Rochester.
With the new site, the auto group will have four dealerships in Monroe County — Mercedes-Benz of Rochester and BMW of Rochester, both in Henrietta, and West Herr Ford, which is next to the new dealership in Greece.
“We are pleased to acquire the largest volume Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat dealership in Rochester and look forward to increasing our footprint in the Rochester market, along with carrying on the tradition of providing quality sales and service that the Doan Family of Dealerships has been known for through the years," Scott Bieler, president & CEO of the West Herr Automotive Group said in a news release.
The 50,000-square-foot dealership is the highest volume Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat dealership in the Rochester region and in 2018 sold more than 2,500 new and used vehicles. Longtime Doan employee Michael Daeschner will remain the dealership's general manager.
West Herr was founded in 1950 as a Ford dealership in Hamburg, Erie County. This acquisition equals 24 West Herr locations, making it the largest automotive group in the Empire state.
The automotive group employs more than 2,000 people — and will gain another 100 through the acquisition.
