Authorities continue to investigate the death of a man who had a car fall on him while he worked inside a Berlin auto repair shop Wednesday.
The victim, who has not been publicly identified, is the owner of the repair shop.
Berlin Police Chief Thomas Galvin and Fire Chief Jim Concannon said police and firefighters were called to Tommy’s Auto Station at 343 Old Central St. in Berlin around 2:05 p.m. Wednesday.
A caller reported to the Nashoba Valley Emergency Communication Center that a man was trapped under a vehicle at the auto body shop.
“Rescuers arrived and found an unresponsive adult male suffering from serious injuries,” authorities said.
The man was trapped under the vehicle.
Crews freed the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Fire officials said it was unclear how long the man was trapped.
The death remains under investigation by Berlin police and Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Worcester District Attorney’s Office.
