J.D. Power has acquired an automotive software firm on the heels of being taken over by a private equity firm.
The Troy-based consumer insights company bought Trilogy Automotive, the auto tech division of Austin-based Trilogy Enterprises, according to a J.D. Power news release.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Trilogy Automotive will be integrated into the company's Autodata Solutions division. J.D. Power merged with Ontario-based Autodata earlier this month, marking the completion of Chicago-based Thoma Bravo's acquisition of J.D. Power.
The Trilogy acquisition beefs up the OEM digital dealer platform capabilities of J.D. Power, known for its surveys in automotive and other industries. The deal is part of the company's strategy to be a top provider of auto transaction data, valuation tools and vehicle information.
Trilogy's services range from website and app development to lead management. Its customers include Ford, General Motors, Fiat Chrysler, Toyota and Hyundai.
Employees and senior management at Trilogy will remain with the company, the release said.
Questions were left with a spokesman Monday for more details on the acquisition.
